Emollients & Ointments
Emollients soothe and protect sore, inflamed skin. They moisturise and protect your skin if you suffer from a dry skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis. Applying an emollient cream before a bath or shower can help to prevent the skin from drying out even more. It locks in moisture and creates a protective layer.
Topical creams can be used to treat problem areas on the hands or body. Bath emollients can be added to the bath water to help dry, itchy skin conditions. These prevent drying caused by soap and other cosmetic products. You can also use emollient ointments and creams under a wet wrap or as an overnight treatment.
