Hydrocortisone & Itch Relief
Dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis are often accompanied by intense itching. The more you itch and scratch, the more likely you are to end up with a secondary infection, so it is vital to use a product that moisturises and soothes the inflammation and itching.
Coconut oil works well as a natural moisturiser and is perfect for sensitive skin. If you have inflamed, sore skin, use a hydrocortisone cream containing a corticosteroid. This will dampen down the body’s natural immune response and relieve itching, redness, and inflammation. Alternatively, use an itch relief cream containing Lauromacrogols.
Emollient creams also have a similar effect. They work by rehydrating the skin and soothing soreness and irritation.
