Pharmacists have argued that by limiting access outside standard opening hours, some 100-hour pharmacies are providing patients with a “second-rate” service.

The practice of use of hatches and tannoy systems in certain 100-hour pharmacies has been branded a "disgrace" by pharmacists, meaning the service fails to meet commissioners' and patients' service expectations.
