Senna is a herbal medicinal product used for the short term relief of occasional constipation. 

Senna belongs to a group of medicines called laxatives. It contains sennosides which work by making bowel muscles contract more often and with more force. This increased muscle action moves bowel contents to the rectum to be emptied and relieves constipation.

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years of age:

Take one to two tablets at bedtime with a drink of water, unless otherwise advised by your doctor.

Should not be used in children or adolescents under the age of 18 years.

Not to be used for more than 1 week. Usually it is sufficient to take this medicinal product up to two to three times during that week.

Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to.

Do not take this product if you:

are allergic to any of the ingredients
have bowel or stomach problems
are pregnant or breastfeeding
have kidney or heart condition

If there is no bowel movement after 3 days or if symptoms persist, in particular if you have persistent abdominal pain or are passing blood, consult your doctor.

Use for more than 1-2 weeks requires medical supervision

Each tablet contains powdered Senna Pods (fruit) equivalent to 7.5mg of hydroxyanthracene glycosides, calculated as sennoside B
