Description

Nutramigen Lipil is lactose-free and is available as:

  • Nutramigen Lipil 1, which is suitable for babies from birth
  • Nutramigen Lipil 2, which is suitable from 6 months onwards and contains more calcium for older babies.

What is Lipil?

Lipil is a special blend of nutrients DHA and ARA, also known as Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. DHA and ARA are present in breast milk and are important building blocks for baby's brain and eye.

If your baby has a cow's milk allergy and difficulty absorbing fat your healthcare professional may recommend Pregestimil Lipil.

Due to their special formulation Nutramigen Lipil 1 & 2 smell and taste different to routine formulas. The following tips will help your baby to get used to the new taste:

If you need to supplement your breastfeeds with Nutramigen Lipil, try to express some breast milk and mix it 50:50 with freshly prepared Nutramigen Lipil. Your dietitian can give you more advice about this.

It may take a few days for your baby to get used to the taste of Nutramigen Lipil.Older children may prefer to take the formula from a covered cup. They may also prefer to have the formula as a cold drink.

Do not use prepared formula if it is un-refrigerated for more than a total of 2 hours. After feeding begins use within 1 hour and do not refrigerate feeding bottle. Throw away prepared formula left in the bottle and clean the utensils. Do not freeze prepared formula.
