How to Take Sudafed Congestion & Headache Relief Max Strength Capsules

• Adults and children aged 16 years and over: Take 2 capsules every 4 to 6 hours as required.
• Leave at least 4 to 6 hours between doses.
• Do not take more than 8 capsules (4 doses) in any 24-hour period.
• Swallow capsules whole with a glass of water. Do not chew.
• Do not give to children under 16 years.
• Do not take for more than 3 days unless advised by your doctor or pharmacist.

Important Warnings for Sudafed Congestion & Headache Relief Max Strength Capsules

• Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well, as too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
• Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine, phenylephrine, or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6 (ingredients).
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist.
• Do not use this medicine if you have:
  • High blood pressure
  • Severe heart disease or circulatory problems
  • An overactive thyroid
  • A history of stomach ulcers
  • An enlarged prostate
  • Are taking, or have taken in the last two weeks, Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) for depression.
  • Are taking tricyclic antidepressants, such as imipramine or amitriptyline.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:
  • Are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • Suffer from kidney or liver problems, including alcoholic liver disease or have alcohol dependence.
  • Have diabetes.
  • Have circulatory disorders such as Raynaud's Phenomenon.
  • Have severe illnesses, including severe renal impairment or sepsis, or suffer from malnutrition, chronic alcoholism, or are also taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic).
• Avoid excessive caffeine in drinks like coffee and tea, or other medicines/foods containing caffeine, to prevent difficulty sleeping, shaking, or an uncomfortable feeling in the chest.
• Do not drink alcohol (beer, wine, spirits etc.) while taking this product.
• Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.

Each capsule contains:

• Active Ingredients: 500 mg Paracetamol, 25 mg Caffeine, and 6.1 mg Phenylephrine hydrochloride.
• Other Ingredients: Maize starch, croscarmellose sodium, sodium laurilsulfate, magnesium stearate, talc, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow (E104), Patent Blue V (E131), erythrosine (E127) and indigo carmine (E132).

This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 2 capsules, making it essentially 'sodium free'.
