What does Colic mean?
Colic is when a baby cries a lot but there's no obvious cause for the crying. The NHS states it is a common problem that should get better by around 3 or 4 months of age. However, you must call NHS 111 or see a GP if you're worried.
It is normal for babies to cry, but a baby may have colic if they cry for more than 3 hours a day, 3 days a week for at least 1 week but are otherwise healthy
What causes trapped air in babies?
Your baby swallows air (wind) during various activities such as feeding, yawning or crying. It is common for babies to often have wind. This is because the baby’s digestive system is developing. Common signs of trapped wind include squirming or crying during a feed. You should help your baby relieve trapped air to make them more comfortable by using winding methods or products to help.
Infacol Suspension
Each bottle of Infacol Suspension contains enough liquid for up to 100 doses. Please read the information leaflet and product information for full directions of use and dosage. This product also has a natural orange flavour to make it appealing and is sugar, alcohol and colourant free. An integrated dropper comes with the product to help you when giving it to your baby.
The active ingredient in Infacol Suspension is called simeticone which encourages the smaller gas bubbles within the stomach to bind into larger bubbles, which are easier for a baby to bring up and release as wind.
