Clearblue are pioneers leading the development of pregnancy and ovulation tests across the globe. They created the world’s very first digital pregnancy test and now Clearblue digital pregnancy tests are used by millions of women across the world, to find out if they are pregnant, in the comfort of their own homes. Clearblue offer a range of innovative products from the digital pregnancy test with weeks indicator, to the early detection pregnancy test. This article will help you  find out everything you need to know about these two specific home pregnancy tests.

Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator

This digital pregnancy test is the only of its kind with a Smart Dual Sensor ™ used to indicate to you how many weeks have passed since conception from one to two, two to three, or more than three weeks; the weeks indicator is 93% accurate in detecting when you conceived. This smart device allows you to discover, not only your pregnancy status, but the test also indicates the weeks since conception, all from the comfort of your home, eliminating the pressure of booking appointments and waiting.

The Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator is the first and only product available on the market that allows you to find your pregnancy ‘if’ and ‘when’ in your own home.

Clearblue Digital Early Detection Pregnancy Test

The digital early detection pregnancy test has created solutions for you to find out if you are pregnant or not ,five days before your missed period (four days before your expected period). The test is over 99% accurate from the day your period is due, reassuring you of your pregnancy status during an emotional and often stressful time.

What to know before use

The digital pregnancy test instruction leaflet for both tests should always be read before you start using the products. This will help you further understand the product and how to use the test correctly.

You should also try not to drink too many liquids before your digital pregnancy test as this can affect the accuracy of the test results. It is advised to take the test when your body needs to naturally pass urine.

There are also extra steps to be taken for accurate results when using the Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator. If you want to find out if you are pregnant or not from the day of your expected period, the test can be used at any time throughout the day. However, if you are taking the pregnancy test earlier then it is always recommended to use the first urine of the day for an accurate Weeks Indicator result.

When using the Digital Early Detection Pregnancy Test you should also use the first urine of the day if you are using the product earlier than your expected period day. If you are going to use the pregnancy test from the day you expect your period, similar to the Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator result, you are fine to test at a time in the day that suits you.

How to use a Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test?

Digital Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator

  1. When you are going to take the test, remove the test stick from the foil wrapper and take off the blue cap. You have to use the test straight away following this.
  2. Place just the absorbent tip pointing downwards in your urine stream for 5 seconds only. Take the appropriate measures to not get the rest of the test stick wet.
  3. Alternatively, you can make a sample of your urine in a dry and clean container. Simply put the absorbent tip pointing downwards in the urine for 20 seconds only.
  4. Keep the tip pointing downwards or you can replace the cap and lay the pregnancy test stick flat while you wait.
  5. Throughout the test you must never hold the test stick with the absorbent tip pointing upwards.
  6. You now have to wait for 3 minutes. An hourglass 'wait' symbol will flash on the digital pregnancy test to show you that the product is working. Once the wait symbol stops flashing your result will appear.
  7. Always remember to never hold the pregnancy test stick with the absorbent tip pointing upwards as this could affect the text results accuracy. If this takes place or the test is used inaccurately, please retest with a new  pregnancy test stick.

Digital Early Detection Pregnancy Test

  1. At the time you are going to do the test, first you should remove the digital pregnancy test stick from the foil wrapper and take off the blue cap. Once you have completed this step you must use the test right away.
  2. Simply put the absorbent tip pointing downwards in your urine stream for 5 seconds exactly.
  3. Another option to step 2 is to collect your urine in a dry and clean container. You can then put the absorbent tip pointing downwards into your urine sample, but for 20 seconds exactly.
  4. You should now see The Smart Countdown and this can be used to tell if the test is actually working.
  5. Your test result should show within the next 3 minutes, wait and then view your results. Sometimes a result will show after only 1 minute.

How to read your pregnancy test results

Digital Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator

The test results are easy to read and use real words. The digital pregnancy test will either say ‘ Pregnant’ or ‘Not Pregnant’. Just under this, there will be numbers to indicate the weeks since conception. It is important to realise that the result will only be visible for around 24 hours.

Digital Early Detection Pregnancy Test

Once again, Clearblue has used simple and straightforward language to help you understand your test results without any fuss or confusion. On the display of your test there will be either a ‘Pregnant’ result which would mean you have tested positive (meaning you’re pregnant) and this result will stay showing for up to 6 months.

On the other hand, a  ‘Not Pregnant’ result means that you have tested negative (meaning you’re not pregnant) and this result can only be seen for the next estimated 24 hours.

How accurate are digital pregnancy tests?

A study was conducted with 187 women who were asked to compare their results from the ‘Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator’, with their ultrasound dating. Following this study, it was found that the pregnancy test weeks indicator was as accurate as an ultrasound scan with 97% of results in agreement with later ultrasound dating scan.

Clearblue Digital Early Detection Pregnancy Test has been found to be over 99% accurate during laboratory tests when the product is used from the day your period is expected to start. The accuracy of the pregnancy test will be lower when you are taking the test earlier.
