For oral use only. Always read the label and do not exceed the stated dose.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over:

• Take two 5 ml spoonfuls.
• Repeat four times a day.
• Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years old.

Do not use Benylin Chesty Coughs Non Drowsy 300ml if:

• You have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients listed.
• You are giving it to a child under 12 years of age.

Special warnings and ingredients:

• Pregnancy and Breast-feeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
• Sugars: Contains 3.5 g of glucose and 1 g of sucrose per 5 ml. This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor.
• Alcohol: This medicine contains 197 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each 5 ml, equivalent to less than 5 ml beer or 2 ml wine. This can be harmful for those suffering from alcoholism.
• Ponceau 4R (E124): This red colouring may cause allergic reactions.
• Sodium: Contains 16.43 mg sodium per 5 ml, to be considered by patients on a controlled sodium diet.
• Sodium Benzoate (E211): Contains 10 mg sodium benzoate in each 5 ml.

If you take too much: Contact a doctor or your nearest Accident and Emergency Department immediately, taking this leaflet and pack with you.

If you forget a dose: Take the next dose when needed. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.

Side-effects: Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side-effects, although not everybody gets them. Possible side-effects include allergic reactions (skin rashes, blistering, itching), nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or diarrhoea. If you experience serious side-effects or are unsure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage: Do not store above 30°C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date. Dispose of medicines responsibly; ask your pharmacist how.
