Mounjaro FAQs

What is Mounjaro?

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only weekly injection used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults. It belongs to a new class of medications called dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonists, which help lower blood sugar, control appetite, and support weight loss.

How Does Mounjaro Work?

  • Regulates blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin when needed.
  • Reduces appetite and slows digestion, leading to weight loss benefits.
  • Lowers glucagon production, preventing excessive sugar release by the liver.

Mounjaro Dosage & How to Use It

  • Once-weekly injection, administered under the skin (subcutaneous).
  • Available in different strengths: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, and 15 mg.
