As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, Meloxicam (the active ingredient in Loxicom) acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which is key in the body's inflammatory and pain responses. This provides anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative (reduces fluid leakage), analgesic (pain-relieving), and antipyretic (fever-reducing) effects, ultimately supporting your dog's overall well-being.

Shake well before use. The suspension should be administered mixed with food. Particular care should be given with regard to the accuracy of dosing, and the suspension should be carefully measured. Two syringes are provided in the package to allow for accurate control of dosage. Each syringe has a kg-bodyweight scale designed for the maintenance dose (i.e. 0.1 mg/kg bodyweight). Thus twice the volume should be administered on the first day as the initial dose.

Dosage & Administration

• Initial dose (on the first day of treatment): 0.2 mg/kg bodyweight as a single dose.
• Maintenance dose (continued once daily by oral administration at 24 hour intervals): 0.1 mg/kg bodyweight.

Contraindications

Do not use Loxicom Oral Suspension for Dogs 1.5mg/ml 10ml in:

• Pregnant or lactating bitches in the last third of pregnancy.

• Animals with impaired hepatic cardiac or renal function.
• Animals with haemorrhaging disorders.
• Where there is evidence of individual hypersensitivity to the product.

Precautions

As for all NSAIDs, use in animals less than 6 weeks of age or in debilitated aged animals may involve additional risk. If use in such animals cannot be avoided, careful clinical management may be required.

User Safety
