COVID test kits for testing more than once
The Silex COVID-19 Self-Test Pack of 5 is a nasal swab antigen test for COVID-19, the illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in a pack of five. Each test cassette comes in its own pouch and should be used within one hour of opening, so open one only when you're ready to test.
Having more than one test to hand helps when your first result is negative but you still feel unwell and want to test again. Each test is single use. See our guide on how to read a COVID test for what the C and T lines mean, including faint lines.
What you get with the Silex COVID-19 Self-Test Pack of 5:
- Five single-use tests: each with a test cassette in its pouch, an antigen extraction tube with extraction reagent and a sterilised swab.
- Nasal swab sample: swab both nostrils with the same swab, inserting the tip up to 2cm until resistance is met, five circles each side.
- Result at 15 minutes: don't read it after 30 minutes.
- Disposal: used parts go in the collection bag and can be disposed of with normal household waste, in line with local regulations.
Testing again, and when to get help
A negative result means you likely do not have COVID-19, but it isn't a guarantee. If you're eligible for COVID-19 treatment and still have symptoms after a negative result, do a total of 3 rapid tests over 3 days, one test a day. If you're worried about your symptoms or they're getting worse, contact NHS 111 or speak to one of our pharmacists. Browse more medical home testing kits, or the full Silex range.
