What is Activon Manuka Honey Barrier Cream?

This barrier cream brings together manuka honey, long valued in skin care for its soothing properties, with a rich emollient base designed to form a protective layer on the skin's surface. It is intended to help guard against the effects of moisture, friction and everyday irritation, making it a useful addition to a regular skin care routine.

Where it may be used

• Areas of skin that are regularly exposed to moisture or friction
• Skin prone to dryness, soreness or general irritation
• As part of a wider skin protection routine alongside other skin care products

Because the cream is designed to sit on the skin's surface rather than absorb deeply, it can be reapplied as part of a daily routine. The levels of MGO in Manuka honey are measured using the Non Peroxide Activity (NPA) scale. The gold standard for Manuka honey effective antimicrobial activity is anywhere between 9.5 and 15 on the NPA scale. All our Activon Manuka honey dressings are made with 100% medical-grade Manuka honey, with a guaranteed NPA of 9.5 – 15 to optimise antimicrobial action and promote faster healing.

The 100g tube is a practical size for ongoing, everyday use rather than occasional application, making it economical for households that use a barrier cream regularly.

Instructions for Use:
1. Ensure that the skin is clean and dry prior to application.
2. Apply a thin, uniform coating over the whole area to be protected,
or where the ostomy pouch, adhesive device or dressing will be
applied.
3. Pea to Palm application: Use a pea sized amount of cream
to cover an area approximately the size of your palm. Do NOT
over-apply.
4. Remove any excess with a clean tissue.
5. If applicable, once fully dry, apply the ostomy pouch, adhesive
device or dressing as normal.
6. Reapplication is recommended as and when required. When
used with adhesive dressings or devices, reapply at each dressing
or device change.

• Keep dry and out of direct sunlight

Contra-Indications:
• Do NOT use on infected area of skin.
• Do NOT use on open wounds or deep puncture wounds.
• Do NOT use where there are any known allergies or sensitivities
to the ingredients.
• Do NOT use on neonates (less than one year old).
Warnings and Precautions:
• Consult your Clinician should any signs of skin reaction occur
following product application.
• Only use as directed.
• For external use only.
• See date stamp on tube for Expiry/Lot information and date of
manufacture.
• Do NOT use foil seal is missing on first use, past expiry date or if
product is damaged. Once opened, product can be used through
to expiry date.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do NOT use if allergic to bee venom, honey or cocoa butter.
• Do NOT use on uncovered areas of skin during phototherapy
treatment.
