Acular 0.5% w/v Eye Drops (5ml)

Acular 0.5% w/v Eye Drops are designed for topical application to the eye. The active constituent, Ketorolac Trometamol, works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins—natural substances in the body that signal pain and inflammation. This clear, aqueous solution is commonly utilised in clinical and veterinary settings to reduce swelling, redness, and irritation following certain procedures or to manage specific inflammatory conditions of the eye surface.

Please follow the specific dosing instructions provided by your prescriber or as noted on the pharmacy dispensing label.

1. Preparation: Wash hands thoroughly before use.
2. Application: Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the bottle upside down near the eye without touching the dropper tip to any surface (to avoid contamination).
3. Dosing: Squeeze the bottle to release one drop into the pocket.
4. Aftercare: Close the eye for approximately 30 seconds. If using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.
5. Hygiene: Replace the cap immediately after use.

Prescription Required: This is a POM and can only be dispensed against a valid UK prescription.

Contraindications: Do not use if there is a known hypersensitivity to Ketorolac, Aspirin, or other NSAIDs.

Professional Monitoring: Use only under the supervision of a healthcare professional or veterinary surgeon, particularly if there is a history of bleeding tendencies or recent surgery.

Contact Lenses: Contains Benzalkonium Chloride, which may discolour soft contact lenses. Remove lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Storage: Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place as directed on the packaging.
