Gaviscon Double Action Liquid Mint 250ml

This popular mint-flavoured liquid works in two powerful ways to combat symptoms:

• Neutralises Excess Stomach Acid: It quickly neutralises excess stomach acid, helping to relieve the pain and discomfort associated with indigestion.
• Forms a Protective Barrier: It creates a strong, protective raft on top of your stomach contents. This physical barrier helps to soothe the burning sensation in your chest by preventing acid reflux from rising into the oesophagus.

Gaviscon Double Action Liquid Mint 250ml is suitable for use after meals and at bedtime, providing relief when you need it most. It's also a suitable option for managing symptoms of acid regurgitation, heartburn, and indigestion that can occur during pregnancy.

For oral use.

Shake well before use.

• Adults and children over 12 years: Take 10-20ml (two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.
• Children under 12 years: Not to be given unless recommended by your doctor.

Before taking Gaviscon Double Action Mint 250ml:

• Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Very rarely, difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred.
• This medicine contains calcium (3.25mmol per 10ml) and 127.88 mg sodium (equivalent to 6.4% of the recommended maximum daily dietary intake of sodium for an adult) in each 10ml. If you have been advised to follow a diet restricted in either of these, please consult your doctor. The maximum recommended daily dose contains 1023.04 mg sodium, which is 51.15% of the adult recommended maximum daily dietary intake.
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you need this product on a daily basis for a prolonged period of time, especially if you have been advised to follow a low salt (sodium) diet.
• You can take this product if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
• This product contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).

Taking Other Medicines:

Do not take this product within two hours of taking other medicines by mouth as it can interfere with their action. This is especially important if you are taking:

• Antihistamines
• Antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines and quinolones such as norfloxacin)
• Iron preparations
• Antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole)
• Digoxin
• Beta-blockers (for heart conditions)
• Neuroleptics (for mental illness)
• Thyroxine
• Chloroquine (for malaria)
• Bisphosphonates (for osteoporosis)

After taking Gaviscon Double Action Mint 250ml:

• If symptoms persist after 7 days, consult your doctor.
• If you take too much of this product, you may feel bloated. It is unlikely to cause harm, but consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• If you forget a dose, do not double the next dose; just carry on taking as before.

Possible side effects:

Very rarely (less than 1 in 10,000 patients treated) an allergic reaction to the ingredients may occur. Symptoms of this may include skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, dizziness, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. If you experience these or any other side effects, stop taking the product and consult your doctor immediately. How to store Gaviscon Double Action Mint 250ml:

• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• Do not store above 30°C.
• Do not refrigerate or freeze.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date shown.
• Use within 6 months of opening.

Each 10 ml of oral suspension contains:

• 500mg sodium alginate
• 213mg sodium bicarbonate
• 325mg calcium carbonate (active ingredients)

The other ingredients are carbomer, methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates, sodium saccharin, peppermint flavour, sodium hydroxide and water. This product does not contain sugar or gluten.
