To prepare, pour one sachet of powder into a mug and fill with hot, but not boiling, water. Stir until dissolved. If preferred, sweeten to taste with sugar, honey or your usual sweetener. It is important to drink plenty of fluids when suffering from colds and flu.

Dosage:

• Adults and children 16 years and over: Take 1 sachet every 4 to 6 hours as required. Do not take more than 4 sachets in 24 hours.
• Do not give to children under 16 years.

Storage:

• Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the end of the month of the expiry date (EXP month/year) shown on the pack.
• Do not store above 25°C (77°F).
• Store in the original package.

Important Warnings

Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

• Do not take this medicine with any other paracetamol-containing products. Seek immediate medical advice in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, due to the risk of delayed, serious liver damage.
• Do not drink large quantities of alcohol whilst taking this medicine.
• Do not take if:
  • You are allergic to any ingredient listed in section 6.
  • You have a serious heart condition or high blood pressure (hypertension).
  • You have an overactive thyroid.
  • You are taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the last 14 days (used to treat depression).
  • You have an enlarged prostate or phaeochromocytoma.
  • You have diabetes mellitus or closed-angle glaucoma.
  • You are taking other sympathomimetic decongestants.
• Consult your pharmacist or doctor before taking if:
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. This product should not be used in women with a history of pre-eclampsia.
  • You have Raynaud's syndrome (poor blood circulation).
  • You are taking beta-blockers, other antihypertensives, vasodilators, tricyclic antidepressants, other decongestants, or barbiturates.
  • You have a problem with your liver or kidneys, or non-cirrhotic liver disease.
  • You are suffering from porphyria (a rare blood disease).
  • You experience persistent or chronic cough, or if you are using any other cough suppressants.
  • You have severe illnesses including severe renal impairment or sepsis, malnutrition, chronic alcoholism, or if you are also taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic) due to a serious risk of metabolic acidosis.
  • You are taking other medicines that may affect paracetamol or phenylephrine, such as cholestyramine, metoclopramide, domperidone, blood thinning drugs (warfarin), digoxin, cardiac glycosides, liver enzyme-inducing drugs (phenytoin, barbiturates, carbamazepine, alcohol), isoniazid, or oxytocic agents.
• If symptoms persist for more than five days, or worsen, consult your pharmacist or doctor.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, Lemsip Max All in One Lemon Sachets Pack of 8 can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

• Allergic reactions (e.g., skin rashes). Very rare cases of serious skin reactions have been reported.
• Changes in blood cells (e.g., thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, leucopenia, neutropenia).
• Metabolic acidosis (in patients with severe illness using paracetamol).
• Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea.
• Difficulty in passing urine (especially in males).

• Citric acid
• Sucrose
• Aspartame (E951) (source of phenylalanine - harmful for phenylketonuria sufferers)
• Sodium citrate
• Saccharin sodium
• Curcumin WD (contains curcumin E100, lactose, polysorbate 80 E433 and silica E551)
• Lemon flavour

Contains Aspartame (E951), Sucrose, and Sodium. Patients with diabetes mellitus should note the sucrose and lactose content. If you have been advised to follow a low salt diet or have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this product.
