Important Warnings & Precautions
Do not take Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Sachets Lemon Pack of 10 if:
- You are allergic to any ingredient (see section 6 for further information).
- You have a serious heart condition, high blood pressure (hypertension), or an overactive thyroid.
- You are taking or have taken within the last 14 days a medicine called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), usually used to treat depression.
- You are taking other sympathomimetic decongestants.
- You have an enlarged prostate, phaeochromocytoma, diabetes mellitus, or closed-angle glaucoma.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
- You have Raynaud's syndrome (poor blood circulation).
- You have a problem with your liver or kidneys, or non-cirrhotic liver disease.
- You have phenylketonuria.
- You have been advised to have a low salt diet (this medicine contains 129.0 mg sodium per sachet).
- You have an intolerance to some sugars (this medicine contains lactose and sucrose).
During treatment with this medicine, tell your doctor straight away if:
- You have severe illnesses, including severe renal impairment or sepsis.
- You suffer from malnutrition or chronic alcoholism.
- You are taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic).
- Symptoms of metabolic acidosis occur: serious breathing difficulties, drowsiness, feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting).
Other important information:
- Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products.
- Do not exceed the stated dose. Taking too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
- If symptoms persist for more than five days or worsen, consult your pharmacist or doctor.
- If you forget a dose, do not take a double dose. Take the next dose at least 4 hours later.
Possible Side Effects: Like all medicines, Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Sachets Lemon Pack of 10 can cause side effects, though not everybody gets them. Very rare (fewer than 1 in 10,000 patients treated) cases of serious skin reactions have been reported. Side effects with unknown frequency include allergic reactions (such as skin rashes), blood disorders, metabolic acidosis, headaches, high blood pressure or palpitations, stomach upset (vomiting, nausea, abdominal discomfort), and difficulty in passing urine (especially in males).
Pregnancy and Breast-feeding: This product should not be used in women with a history of pre-eclampsia. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
