Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Smoking when you are pregnant is harmful to your baby. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, you should try to quit smoking without using nicotine replacement therapies. If you need help, speak to your healthcare professional. The nicotine from this medicine gets into breast milk and can affect your baby; if breastfeeding, it is best to stop smoking without NRT, but if you do need to use NRT, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and young people aged 12 years
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is not suitable for children under 12. Children are more susceptible to the effects of nicotine, and it could cause severe toxicity, which can be fatal. For young people aged 12-18, NRT should only be used with the advice of a healthcare professional.
