Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops 10ml

Otrivine Adult Nasal Drop contain xylometazoline hydrochloride, an active ingredient that works quickly to clear your nasal passages. This powerful decongestant helps to reduce excessive nasal secretions and shrink swollen blood vessels in the nose, opening up airways and making breathing more comfortable.

These fast-acting nasal drops are specifically designed for the symptomatic relief of various conditions, including:

• Nasal Congestion: Perfect for relief from a blocked nose due to common colds & flu.
• Perennial and Allergic Rhinitis: Provides effective relief from the recurring inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes, including hay fever and allergies.

With Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops, you can expect relief that lasts, helping you get through your day or enjoy a more restful night's sleep without the discomfort of a blocked nose. Always use as directed to ensure optimal results and safety.

For Adults and Children over 12 years of age:

• Clear your nose.
• Lean your head back as far as is comfortable.
• Apply 2 to 3 drops into each nostril up to 3 times daily.
• Keep your head back for a short time after application.
• Clean and dry the dropper before replacing it.
• Do not exceed 3 applications daily into each nostril.

For reasons of hygiene, this pack should only be used by one person. Do not use this bottle for more than 28 days after opening it.

Precautions to consider when using Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops 10ml:

• Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
• Do not take decongestants for more than 7 consecutive days. Prolonged or excessive use may cause stuffiness in the nose to return or worsen (rebound congestion).
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date stated on the bottle.
• Protect from heat.
• If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• If any side effects get serious or are not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
• If you use more than you should, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

DO NOT use the drops if you:

• Are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
• Are allergic to other decongestants.
• Have had recent neurosurgery.
• Have narrow angle glaucoma.
• Have chronic nasal inflammation with very dry nasal passages (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
• Have an enlarged prostate gland.
• Have a rare tumour of the adrenal gland that produces high amounts of adrenaline and noradrenaline (phaeochromocytoma).
• Are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or have stopped taking them in the last 14 days.

Take special care and consult your doctor before using the drops if you:

• Have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism).
• Have diabetes mellitus.
• Have heart or circulatory disease (e.g. long QT syndrome) or hypertension.
• Are pregnant or breast-feeding.
• Are taking tri and tetra-cyclic antidepressant treatment.

Otrivine contains benzalkonium chloride which may cause nasal irritation.

Active ingredient: Xylometazoline Hydrochloride 0.1% w/v.

Other ingredients: Sodium chloride, sodium phosphate, sodium acid phosphate, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, sorbitol, hypromellose and water.
