Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray 10ml

Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray 10ml contains xylometazoline hydrochloride, an active ingredient that works by reducing excessive nasal secretions and returning swollen blood vessels in the nose to their normal size. This helps to alleviate the discomfort of a blocked nose and makes breathing much more comfortable.

Ideal for addressing symptoms associated with:

• Nasal Congestion: Including a blocked nose due to colds.
• Perennial and Allergic Rhinitis: Offering relief from recurring inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes, common with hayfever.
• Sinusitis: Helping to clear blockages and ease pressure.

At Weldricks Pharmacy, we understand the importance of quick and reliable relief. Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray 10ml provides a targeted solution, helping you manage your symptoms effectively so you can get on with your day.

For Adults and Children over 12 years of age: 1 spray in each nostril up to 3 times daily. Do not exceed 3 applications daily into each nostril.

Instructions:

1. Do not cut the nozzle. The metered dose spray is ready to prime before use.
2. Clear your nose.
3. Remove protective cap.
4. Before using for the first time, prime the pump by actuating 4 times. Once primed, the pump will normally remain charged throughout regular daily treatment periods. If the spray is not ejected during the full actuation stroke, or if the product has not been used for longer than 7 days, the pump will need to be re-primed with 4 actuations. Be very careful not to spray in the eyes or mouth.
5. Hold the bottle upright with thumb under base and nozzle between two fingers.
6. Lean forward slightly and insert the nozzle into the nostril.
7. Depress pump and sniff at the same time.
8. Repeat with the other nostril.
9. Clean and dry the nozzle before replacing back the cap right after use.

We would suggest that you try not to blow your nose for the first few minutes, allowing the medicine to get to work.

Do not use Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray 10ml continuously for more than 7 consecutive days. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist. To avoid possible spread of infection, only one person should use each bottle.

Always read the label. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Do not use this spray if you:

• Are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
• Have had recent neurosurgery.
• Have narrow angle glaucoma.
• Have chronic nasal inflammation with very dry nasal passages (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
• Have an enlarged prostate gland.
• Have a rare tumour of the adrenal gland that produces high amounts of adrenaline and noradrenaline (phaeochromocytoma).
• Are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or have stopped taking them in the last 14 days.

Do not use this spray for children under 12 years old.

Take special care: Before using the spray, tell your doctor if you:

• Have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism).
• Have diabetes mellitus.
• Have heart or circulatory disease (e.g., long QT syndrome).
• Are pregnant or breast-feeding (consult your doctor or pharmacist before use).
• Have hypertension.
• Are taking tri and tetra-cyclic antidepressant treatment.

Like other products for the relief of blocked nose, Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray 10ml may give rise to sleep disturbances, dizziness, tremor in very sensitive patients. Consult your doctor if such signs prove troublesome. Prolonged or excessive use may cause stuffiness to return or worsen. Otrivine contains benzalkonium chloride which may cause nasal irritation.

The active ingredient is xylometazoline hydrochloride (0.1% w/v). The other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride, sodium phosphate, disodium edetate, sodium acid phosphate, sodium chloride, sorbitol, hypromellose and purified water.
