AproDerm Ointment 500g is particularly effective for overnight use, working while you sleep to repair and rehydrate your skin. It can also be used as a pre-bathing emollient to protect your skin from the drying effects of water.

Always wash your hands before applying AproDerm Ointment 500g.

1. Break the tamper-evident seal on the pump.
2. Turn the pump in a clockwise direction and press the nozzle down several times to pump the ointment onto your hand. (Note: The first time you use it, you may need to press the nozzle up to ten times before the ointment comes out – this is normal).
3. Apply AproDerm Ointment 500g regularly, liberally, and frequently (at least 3 times a day) to the affected area.
4. Use gentle strokes, following the direction of hair growth.
5. Do not rub vigorously, as this can generate heat, causing further irritation and itching, and potentially block hair follicles, leading to folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles).
6. Leave a thin layer of ointment on the skin to soak in (the skin should glisten) – this can take about 10 minutes.
7. AproDerm Ointment 500g can be used as a pre-bathing emollient to prevent the skin from drying out further. It should also be applied after bathing to skin that is almost dry, to trap in moisture.
8. Continue applying AproDerm Ointment 500g even after your skin has improved to help prevent the risk of flare-ups.

Please observe the following warnings when using AproDerm Ointment 500g:

• Do not use AproDerm Ointment 500g if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist if your skin is bleeding, infected, broken, or badly cracked.
• Do not use if the tamper-evident seal is damaged or missing.
• When using for the first time, test a small amount of AproDerm Ointment 500g on an area of skin and leave for 48 hours. If there is no reaction or irritation, then apply all over the affected area of skin.
• Fire Hazard Warning: Paraffin-based emollients can be a fire hazard. Keep away from naked flames, ignition sources, and avoid smoking when using this product. Fabrics (clothing, bedding, dressings) that have been in contact with this product can ignite more easily when near a naked flame. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but will not completely remove it.
