This product is intended for use in children aged 2 months to 6 years. For oral use only. Always use the syringe supplied with the pack.

How to Use the Syringe:

1. Shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds and remove the cap.
2. Insert the end of the syringe into the plug with a hole in the neck of the bottle and ensure it is secure.
3. Hold the syringe in place and turn the bottle upside down. Gently pull down the plunger to either 2.5 ml or 5 ml as appropriate (refer to the dosing tables for the correct dose).
4. Turn the bottle the right way up.
5. Place the syringe inside the child's mouth against the cheek and press the plunger slowly to gently release the medicine.
6. After use, the plug should remain in the neck of the bottle. Wipe the plug and neck clean and rinse the cap before replacing.
7. The syringe should be washed and dried after use. It should be cleaned by hand without removing the plunger.

Dosage for Fever After Vaccination (2, 3 and 4 months):

• Child's Age: 2-3 months
• How Much: 2.5 ml
• How Often: If necessary, after 4-6 hours, give a second 2.5 ml dose. Do not give more than 2 doses.
• Important: Only give if your baby weighs over 4 kg and was born after 37 weeks. If your child is still feverish after two doses, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage for Pain and Other Causes of Fever:

Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not give more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period. Do not give this medicine to your child for more than 3 days without speaking to your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not give anything else containing paracetamol while giving this medicine. Talk to a doctor at once if your child takes too much of this medicine, even if they seem well. This is because too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage.

Important Advice:

• As with all medicines, if your child is currently taking any other medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Check that the cap on the bottle is securely engaged at all times.
• Do not give to babies less than 2 months old. Consult your doctor.
• Do not give to anyone who is allergic to the ingredients.
• Do not give if your child has serious kidney or liver problems.
• Do not give if your child has an inherited intolerance to fructose or has been diagnosed with an intolerance to some other sugars.
• During treatment, tell your doctor straight away if you have severe illnesses (including severe renal impairment or sepsis), suffer from malnutrition, chronic alcoholism, or are taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic). Symptoms of metabolic acidosis may include serious breathing difficulties, drowsiness, nausea, and vomiting.
• Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if your child is taking metoclopramide or domperidone (for nausea and vomiting), cholestyramine (for high cholesterol), anticoagulants (like warfarin), anticonvulsants (for epilepsy), or flucloxacillin (an antibiotic).
• Some ingredients can cause problems: Methyl (E218), propyl (E216), and ethyl (E214) parahydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions, possibly delayed. Sorbitol liquid (E420) and Maltitol liquid (E965) make this product unsuitable for people with inherited fructose intolerance, as sorbitol is a source of fructose. These may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and a mild laxative effect.
• This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 5 ml dose (essentially 'sodium-free').
• This medicine contains 14.32 mg propylene glycol (E1520) and 0.16 mg benzyl alcohol in each 5 ml dose. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you or your child have a liver or kidney disease.

Each 5ml of Calpol Infant Suspension Sugar & Colour Free 2+ Months Strawberry Flavour contains:

• Active ingredient: 120mg of Paracetamol.
• Other ingredients: Maltitol liquid (E965), Glycerol, Polysorbate 80, Sorbitol liquid (E420), Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), Microcrystalline cellulose and Carmellose sodium, Xanthan gum and purified water.
• Flavouring: Strawberry (containing Propylene glycol (E1520) and Benzyl alcohol).
