Holding the board gently, work from the outer edge of each nail towards the middle. File in one direction only, making sure the file lifts off the nail after each stroke, to avoid a sawing action. Having achieved the desired shape on the first side of the nail, repeat on the other side to match. Shape the nail with the darker, more abrasive side, using the lighter, less abrasive side for finishing.

Avoid filing nails that are already damaged, cracked, or infected. Discontinue use if any irritation occurs.
