Dosage:

• Adults, including the elderly and children over 12 years: Take 10-20ml (two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.
• Children under 12 years old: Not to be given unless recommended by your doctor.

Do not take Gaviscon Double Action Liquid Mixed Berries 150ml if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of its ingredients. Very rarely, difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you:

• Suffer or have suffered from significant kidney or heart disease, as certain salts in this product could interfere.
• Have severe kidney problems.
• Have an electrolyte disturbance causing a low level of phosphate in the blood (hypophosphataemia).
• Know you have reduced amounts of gastric acid in your stomach, as this product may be less effective.
• Have kidney stones or high levels of calcium in your blood.

Important Information about Ingredients:

• Each 20ml dose contains 11.04 mmol sodium and 6.5 mmol calcium. If you are on a diet restricted in either of these, please consult your doctor before taking this product. The maximum recommended daily dose contains 1023mg sodium (equivalent to 51.15% of an adult's recommended daily dietary intake).
• Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
• Contains 21.38 mg propylene glycol in each 10 ml.

Other Medicines:

• Do not take this product within two hours of taking other medicines by mouth as it can interfere with their action. This is especially important if you are taking antihistamines, antibiotics (e.g., tetracycline, quinolones like norfloxacin), iron preparations, antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole), digoxin and beta-blockers (for heart conditions), neuroleptics (for mental illness), thyroxine, chloroquines (for malaria), and bisphosphonates (for osteoporosis). Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines.

Possible Side Effects:

• Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, though not everybody gets them. If you experience side effects, stop taking the product and consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of a very rare (less than 1 in 10,000) allergic reaction may include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, itching, dizziness, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, and difficulty in breathing.
• If symptoms persist after 7 days, consult your doctor.
• If you take too much, you may feel bloated. This is unlikely to cause harm, but consult your doctor or pharmacist if it doesn't go away.

Storage and Use:

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
• Use within 6 months of opening.
• Do not store above 30°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
• Check that the cap seal is unbroken before first use.
• Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required to help protect the environment.

Each 10ml of oral suspension contains the following active ingredients:

• 500mg Sodium Alginate
• 213mg Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
• 325mg Calcium Carbonate

Other ingredients include: Sodium, Propylene Glycol (present in cranberry, raspberry and fantasy fruit flavours), Carbomer, Methyl (E218) and Propyl (E216) Parahydroxybenzoates, Sodium Saccharin, Raspberry Flavour, Cranberry Flavour, Fantasy Fruit Masking Flavour, Sodium Hydroxide, and Purified Water. This product does not contain sugar or gluten.
