How Piriteze Children's Hayfever & Allergy Syrup Works

The active ingredient in Piriteze Children's Hayfever & Allergy Syrup 70ml is cetirizine hydrochloride 1mg/ml, a non-drowsy antihistamine. It works by blocking the effects of histamine, a natural substance produced by the body during an allergic reaction. By inhibiting histamine, cetirizine helps to reduce the uncomfortable symptoms you experience, allowing you or your child to go about daily activities without disruption. Adults and children ages 6 years and over: Two 5ml spoonfuls once daily, or one 5ml spoonful morning and evening.
Children under 6: Not recommended.

Keep out of reach of children. Always read the enclosed instruction leaflet before taking this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following: headache, dizziness, agitation, dry mouth, drowsiness, stomach or intestinal discomfort. These are all temporary, mild side effects of the medicine. Stop taking this medicine immediately and tell your doctor or go to your nearest hospital casualty if you experience a severe but rare allergic reaction (swelling of the face, lips mouth or throat which may cause difiiculty breathing or swallowing).

Each 1ml of oral solution contains 1mg of cetirizine hydrochloride. Also includes sorbitol (E240), sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219), and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216).
