How Sebco Ointment 40g Works

Sebco Ointment 40g combines three active ingredients known for their benefits in managing challenging scalp conditions:

• Coal Tar Solution 12% w/w: Known for its mild antiseptic properties, coal tar helps to relieve itching and reduce inflammation. It also slows down the rapid growth of skin cells, helping to normalise skin turnover.
• Salicylic Acid 2% w/w: This ingredient acts as a keratolytic, meaning it helps to break down keratin, a protein that forms part of the skin structure. By doing so, it assists in softening and removing thick, scaly skin, making it easier to shed.
• Sulphur for external use 4% w/w: Sulphur also possesses keratolytic properties and is traditionally used to help shed dead skin cells and address scaling.

Together, these active components work to reduce skin thickening, ease scaling, and alleviate the associated discomfort, providing targeted relief for your scalp.

Who Can Use Sebco Ointment 40g?

Sebco Ointment 40g is available over the counter from your local pharmacy for adults and children aged 6 years and over. Always read the label and patient information leaflet carefully before use, and if symptoms persist, please speak to your Weldricks pharmacist for advice.

Pierce the tube membrane by inverting the cap. Affix the scalp applicator to the threaded portion of the tube.

Part the hair and apply a thin ribbon of Sebco Ointment 40g to the affected areas of the scalp. Take care to avoid contact with the eyes. Gently rub in the ointment and leave in contact with scalp for approximately one hour. Wash the hands immediately afterwards.

After one hour, remove the ointment by showering or rinsing with warm water.

Use daily for 3—7 days, then intermittently as advised by a healthcare professional.
