Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream 15g offers targeted relief for inflamed fungal skin infections. This dual-action cream effectively treats conditions like athlete's foot and fungal sweat rash, quickly easing symptoms of swelling, redness, and itching.

Description

When fungal infections on the skin cause significant discomfort, Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream 15g provides a powerful solution. Its unique formula combines two active ingredients to tackle both the infection and its irritating symptoms.

How Canesten Hydrocortisone Provides Dual Action Relief

The effectiveness of Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream 15g comes from its two active ingredients:

  • Clotrimazole: This is an antifungal agent that works to eliminate the fungi and some bacteria responsible for the skin infection, tackling the root cause of the problem.
  • Hydrocortisone: A mild steroid, hydrocortisone reduces the swelling, redness, and itching that accompanies inflamed skin conditions.

This dual approach makes Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream 15g particularly effective for treating fungal infections where inflammation is a prominent symptom. It is the only product of its kind available without prescription to offer this dual-action relief specifically for fungal sweat rash and athlete's foot with associated inflammation.

Remember, if you are unsure whether you have a fungal skin infection or if your symptoms persist, always consult a healthcare professional for advice.

Can I use Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream 15g for other skin conditions?

Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream 15g is specifically formulated for athlete's foot and fungal sweat rash when these conditions also involve significant inflammation. Always read the warnings section in the Patient Information Leaflet before use.

Directions

If Canesten Hydrocortisone has been prescribed for you by your doctor, follow any instructions he/she may have given you. If you purchased this product without a prescription, follow these directions closely:

  • Before use, pierce the tube seal by inverting the cap over the end of the tube and press.
  • If the feet are infected, they should be washed and dried thoroughly, especially between the toes, before applying the cream.
  • Canesten Hydrocortisone should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected areas twice daily and rubbed in gently. Approximately 1cm of cream per application should be enough.
  • Do not cover the area being treated with a dressing or bandage.
  • As with all products containing hydrocortisone, you should wash your hands immediately after applying the cream.

Treatment should be continued for no more than 7 days. The symptoms of skin infection, such as itching or soreness, should improve within a few days of treatment although signs such as redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. If the symptoms persist or do not start to improve after 7 days, consult your doctor.

Do not put the cream in your mouth or swallow it. If the cream is swallowed accidentally, tell your doctor straight away or contact the Accident and Emergency Department of your nearest hospital.
