How Strepsils Lozenges Work

Each Strepsils Lozenges Sore Throat & Cough Pack of 24 contains:

• 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol & Amylmetacresol: These active ingredients are mild antiseptics that work to kill bacteria associated with mouth and throat infections, helping to address the cause of your discomfort.
• Levomenthol: Provides a mild local anaesthetic action to numb and soothe the painful area, offering immediate relief from a sore throat. It also helps to relieve symptoms of nasal congestion, making it easier to breathe when you're suffering from a cold.

By slowly dissolving in your mouth, these lozenges allow the active ingredients to work directly on the affected area, lubricating and soothing the throat. This helps to reduce the soreness and discomfort often associated with coughs, sore throats, and colds & flu. Keep a pack on hand for when symptoms strike and get back to feeling your best.

Strepsils Sore Throat and Cough Lozenges are suitable for Adults and Children (over 6 years old) and the elderly.

• Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours.
• Do not take more than 12 lozenges per day.

Important:

• Not suitable for children under 6 years.
• Do not exceed the stated dose.
• For oral administration only.

Remember young children can choke on lozenges.

Do not use this product if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmetacresol, Levomenthol or any of the other ingredients shown in the ingredients section.

If you are pregnant, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding, check with your pharmacist or doctor before taking this product. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

This medicine contains sucrose (1.496g per lozenge) and glucose (1.013g per lozenge). This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product. This medicine contains only very low levels of gluten (from wheat starch). It is regarded as 'gluten-free' and is very unlikely to cause problems if you have coeliac disease. One lozenge contains no more than 20.26 micrograms of gluten. If you have wheat allergy (different from coeliac disease) you should not take this medicine. This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per dose, that is to say essentially 'sodium-free'. This medicine contains Sulphites – Sulphur Dioxide (E220) (present in liquid glucose) which may rarely cause hypersensitivity reactions and bronchospasm. This medicine contains fragrance with d-limonene, d-limonene may cause allergic reactions.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if:

• You take too many lozenges.
• Anything unusual happens (e.g., if you experience any hypersensitivity to this medicine such as itching, burning sensation and/or discomfort of the mouth, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, neck, tongue or throat and rash (severe allergic reactions), stop taking this medicine immediately).
• Symptoms persist, have not improved, or have worsened after 3 days.

Do not use after the expiry date.

Active substances: 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2mg, Amylmetacresol 0.6mg, Levomenthol 8.0mg.

Other ingredients: Liquid sucrose, Liquid glucose (containing Wheat Starch (containing Gluten) and Sulphites – Sulphur Dioxide (E220)), Tartaric acid, Eucalyptus oil (containing d-Limonene), Indigo carmine (E132).
