How Strepsils Menthol Lozenges Work

The unique dual antiseptic formula in Strepsils Menthol Lozenges Pack of 36 helps to:

For best results, allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly in your mouth. This ensures the active ingredients are released gradually, providing continuous relief and allowing them to work effectively where they are needed most.

Adults and Children (over 12 years old) and the elderly:

• Dissolve one Strepsils Menthol Lozenges Pack of 36 slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours.
• For children aged 12 to 16, do not exceed 8 lozenges per day.
• For adults, do not exceed 12 lozenges per day.
• Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to.
• For oral administration only.

Not suitable for children under 12 years.

Do not take Strepsils Menthol Lozenges Pack of 36 if you:

• Are allergic (hypersensitive) to 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmetacresol, or any of the other ingredients listed.
• Are under 12 years old.

Warnings and precautions:

• Young children can choke on lozenges.
• If you are pregnant, or if you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars (contains sucrose and glucose), contact your doctor before taking this product. This should be taken into account by patients with diabetes mellitus.
• This medicine contains only very low levels of gluten (from wheat starch) and is regarded as 'gluten-free'. One lozenge contains no more than 22.04 micrograms of gluten. If you have a wheat allergy (different from coeliac disease), you should not take this medicine.
• This medicine contains 1.89 mg propylene glycol in each lozenge.
• This medicine contains fragrance with Benzyl Alcohol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Citronellol, d-Limonene, Linalool (all present in Spearmint flavour), Linalool and d-limonene (present in Cool Mint Sensation flavour) and d-limonen (present in Eucalyptus oil). Benzyl Alcohol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Citronellol, d-Limonene, Eugenol and Linalool may cause allergic reactions.
• This medicine contains Sulphites – Sulphur Dioxide (E220) (present in liquid glucose) which may rarely cause severe hypersensitivity reactions and bronchospasm.
• May cause allergic reactions including asthma (more common if you are allergic to aspirin).
• If symptoms persist, have not improved, or have worsened after 3 days, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
• If you experience stomach discomfort after taking too many lozenges, do not take any more and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• If you experience any hypersensitivity reactions (itching, burning sensation and/or discomfort of the mouth, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, neck, tongue or throat and rash) stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• If any side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not use after the expiry date.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not store above 25°C.

Each Strepsils Menthol Lozenges Pack of 36 lozenge contains:

• Active substances: 1.2mg of 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol and 0.6mg of Amylmetacresol.
• Other ingredients: Xylitol, cool mint sensation flavour (contains propylene glycol), Levomenthol, Spearmint, Eucalyptus Oil, Liquid Sucrose, Liquid Glucose (containing wheat starch (containing Gluten) and Sulphites – Sulphur Dioxide (E220)), fragrance allergens - Benzyl Alcohol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Citronellol, d-Limonene, Eugenol and Linalool.
