Description

Targeting Gum Problems and Oral Health

Chlorhexidine Digluconate, the active ingredient in Corsodyl Mouthwash Mint 600ml, is a powerful antibacterial agent designed to reduce dental plaque formation, a primary cause of gum disease. This helps to alleviate symptoms such as bleeding and irritated gums, offering vital support for your oral hygiene routine.

Understanding Chlorhexidine Digluconate

This active ingredient works by binding to the bacteria in your mouth, inhibiting their growth and preventing plaque build-up. It's especially effective for short-term use, as directed, for specific oral conditions. It's crucial to understand the difference between medicated mouthwashes like Corsodyl and daily fresh-breath rinses. Corsodyl is a targeted treatment for specific oral health issues and should be used as advised by a dentist or pharmacist.

Warnings

Because of the way chlorhexidine forms a protective layer across the teeth and gums to help prevent new plaque from forming, some temporary discolouration can occur on the teeth and tongue. In the majority of cases this can be removed by brushing, and will disappear once the treatment has stopped. Discolouration usually occurs when certain foods and drinks such as tea, coffee and red wine are consumed within an hour of using the mouthwash. Other sources such as beer and cigarettes cause staining but are not associated with chlorhexidine digluconate in Corsodyl.

  • Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to chlorhexidine digluconate or any of the other ingredients.
