Adults & children over 16: Take 1–2 capsules every 4 to 6 hours as required. Do not exceed 8 capsules in 24 hours.

Children aged 12–15: Take 1 capsule every 4 to 6 hours as required. Do not exceed 4 capsules in 24 hours.

Swallow whole with water. Do not chew. Leave at least 4 hours between doses.

Do not take Paracetamol for longer than 48 hours at a time unless advised to by a doctor.

• Do not take Paracetamol 500mg Capsules Pack of 32 if you have ever had an allergic reaction to paracetamol or to any of the other ingredients (listed in the ingredients section).
• Do not take if you are taking any other prescription or non-prescription medicines containing paracetamol to treat pain, fever, symptoms of cold and flu, or to aid sleep.
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Paracetamol 500mg Capsules Pack of 32 if you:
• Suffer from mild arthritis and need to take painkillers every day.
• Suffer from liver or kidney problems.
• Are underweight or malnourished.
• Regularly drink alcohol.
• Have a severe infection, as this may increase the risk of metabolic acidosis.
• During treatment, tell your doctor straight away if you have severe illnesses, severe renal impairment, sepsis (when bacteria and their toxins circulate in the blood leading to organ damage), malnutrition, chronic alcoholism or if you are also taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic). Metabolic acidosis, a serious condition, has been reported in these situations. Symptoms may include serious breathing difficulties with deep rapid breathing, drowsiness, feeling sick (nausea), and being sick (vomiting). Contact a doctor immediately if you get a combination of these symptoms.
• Do not give to children under 12 years.
• If you are taking blood thinning drugs (anticoagulants e.g., warfarin) and you need to take a pain reliever on a daily basis, talk to your doctor because of the risk of bleeding. Occasional doses of Paracetamol 500mg Capsules Pack of 32 can be taken at the same time as anticoagulants.
• Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking flucloxacillin (antibiotic) due to the risk of metabolic acidosis.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If necessary, Paracetamol 500mg Capsules Pack of 32 can be used during pregnancy. Consider taking the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time. You can take this product whilst breastfeeding.
• If your headache becomes persistent, consult your doctor.
• Paracetamol has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
• This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23mg) per capsule, so it is essentially 'sodium-free'.
• If you take more Paracetamol Capsules than you should: Talk to a doctor at once, even if you feel well, as too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage. If your symptoms continue or your headache becomes persistent, see your doctor.
• Possible side effects: Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects. Stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor immediately if you experience:
• Allergic reactions which may be severe such as skin rash and itching, sometimes with swelling of the mouth or face or shortness of breath.
• Skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers.
• Breathing problems (these are more likely if you have experienced them before when taking other painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin).
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding.
• Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite and yellowing of the eyes and skin.
• Frequency not known: Metabolic acidosis - a serious condition that can make blood more acidic, in patients with severe illness using paracetamol.
• If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
• Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
